The metro station Le Peletier is a station on the Line 7 of the Paris Métro .
location
The station is located in the Quartier du Faubourg Montmartre in the 9th arrondissement of Paris . It lies lengthways below the Rue La Fayette to the west of its intersection with the Rue du Faubourg Montmartre .
Surname
It is named after Rue Le Peletier, which crosses Rue La Fayette at the level of the western end of the station. Louis Le Peletier de Mortefontaine (1730–1799) was the last Prévôt des marchands before the French Revolution .
history
The station was subsequently put into operation on June 6, 1911, after the section from Opéra to Porte de la Villette of line 7 had already been opened on November 5, 1910.
description
The 75 m long underground station is located under an elliptical, white-tiled vaulted ceiling with curved side walls. There are side platforms on the two main tracks.
The only access is at the confluence of the Rue de la Victoire, it is marked by a candelabra of the type "Val d'Osne".
vehicles
Conventional five-car trains of the MF 77 series run on Line 7 . Between 1971 and 1979 trains of the MF 67 series ran there , before that of the Sprague-Thomson type .
