The Le Portalet is a mountain of the Mont-Blanc massif , which lies west of the small village Praz-de-Fort in Val Ferret in the canton of Valais , Switzerland . Le Portalet is located on the mountain range between the Trient glacier and the Saleinagletscher and consists of four ridges and four flanks. The north side is partly glaciated. In the south, the mountain breaks off almost bottomlessly at an altitude of 1100 meters. He is 3344 m above sea level. M. high.
Le Portalet has two important secondary peaks: Grand Clocher du Portalet (2,983 m) and Petit Clocher du Portalet (2,823 m). The latter is shaped like a needle and is particularly difficult to climb.
