Leandro Rodríguez , full name Leandro Joaquín Rodríguez Telechea , (born November 19, 1992 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .
Career
The 1.79-meter-tall offensive player Rodríguez has been in the squad of the Uruguayan first division team River Plate Montevideo at least since the Apertura 2012 . In the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons, he completed 24 games (three goals) and 23 games (seven goals) in the Primera División . He also played in three games (no goal) of the Copa Sudamericana 2013 . In the 2014/15 season he was used 23 times (nine goals) in the top Uruguayan league and four times (one goal) in the Copa Sudamericana 2014 . After another league appearance (no goal) in Apertura 2015, he moved to English first division club Everton in August 2015 . The transfer was handled by Grupo Casal in conjunction with his personal advisor Humberto Schiavone. On January 9, 2016, he made his debut in the 2-0 FA Cup victory against Dagenham & Redbridge in the professional team when he came on in the 89th minute for Aaron Lennon . Without a league appearance in the first team, he moved to Brentford FC on loan for a month in mid-March 2016 . There he ran twice (no goal) in the Football League Championship . He returned to Everton in mid-April 2016. He could still not show a Premier League appearance. At the end of January 2017, he was loaned to the Belgian Waasland-Beveren club. He did not get playing time there either and returned to Everton on July 1, 2017. Just a few weeks later, his move to Danubio FC back to Uruguay was announced.
