Window life of Bertrand du Guesclin in Les Iffs

The window of life by Bertrand du Guesclin in the chapel of the Montmuran Castle in Les Iffs , a French commune in the Ille-et-Vilaine department in the Brittany region , was created in 1891. The stained glass window was included in the list of architectural monuments in France in 2000 as part of the castle as Monument historique .

The four-part window comes from an unknown workshop. It depicts the life of Bertrand du Guesclin († 1380), who was an important Breton military leader and connétable of France . His second marriage to Jeanne de Laval-Tinténiac (around 1360-1433) in 1373 is discussed below. The Montmuran Castle was brought into the marriage by Jeanne de Laval-Tinténiac.

The various coats of arms of his family and the alliance coats of arms can be seen in the tracery .
