Leda Moreno (born May 26, 1945 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican singer . The daughter of Mexican chemical engineer Mario Moreno and the German-born Margot Hohmann Kuhlmann was one of the few singers of Mexican Rock Roll 'n' era of the early 1960s and was famous for its unusual for Mexico yodelling style , in songs like La Montañesa and Jokelí to Expression comes.

Life

Leda Moreno received her musical training first from her mother, with whom she sang songs of German and Mexican folklore from an early age, as well as from her studies at the Universidad Femenina de México (UFM). After making the acquaintance of the group Los Hermanos Carrión , she was inspired to pursue a professional singing career by Eduardo "Lalo" Carrión. At the age of 16, she recorded the song Little Devil by Neil Sedaka with Columbia Records, accompanied by Lalo Carrión on guitar . Because of her convincing voice, she received a recording contract that same day and Columbia released two long-playing records from her . The first publication appeared in 1961 with the title La Sensacional Leda Moreno (DCA-215). The song La Montañesa , published on it, helped her breakthrough.

In 1965 she married the Dutch musician Ruud de Wolff, who together with his brother Riem formed the doo-wop duo Blue Diamonds . She settled with him in Germany and began to work as a songwriter .

In 1969 she brought out a single (S 1169) with the German-language songs Es Ist Immer Dieselbe Geschichte and In Das Traumland Der Liebe with Polydor .
