Lee Aaron
Karen Lynn Greening (born July 21, 1962 in Belleville , Ontario ), better known as Lee Aaron , is the Canadian heavy metal , NWOBHM , hard rock and jazz singer of the band of the same name Lee Aaron.
Life
Karen Lynn Greening joined heavy metal band Lee Aaron in 1977 at the age of 15 . First employed as a background singer, she eventually took over the lead vocals. She also adopted the band name as her stage name.
Adored and marketed as Queen of Heavy Metal in the early 1980s to early 1990s , she later separated from her then boyfriend and guitarist John Albani , after which the band Lee Aaron broke up.
In 1996 the experimental CD 2Preciious was released (with band members of the Canadian underground group Sons of Freedom ), which was highly praised by the critics, but received little attention in Germany.
In 2000 the work Slick Chick with the Swingin 'Barflies appeared somewhat surprisingly , in which Karen revived her singing beginnings in the field of jazz music.
In March 2016 she released an album called Fire and Gasoline , which is back in the genre of hard rock. On the tour for this album, the shows in Nuremberg and Balingen were recorded in summer 2017. The blues-rock album Diamond Baby Blues was released in 2018 , before an album with the recordings of the Fire and Gasoline tour under the title Power, Soul, Rock N 'Roll - Live in Germany was released in 2019 .
