Philip Stegers

Philip Stegers (* 1973 in Dortmund ) is a German songwriter, producer, film composer and radio play author. At times he worked under the pseudonyms "Lee Buddah" and "Farfisatan".

Career

In 1996 the musician, who then lived in Dortmund, founded the band "Lee Buddah". The band name is an ironic homage to the soccer player Reinhard Libuda . The EP Stadtverkehr was released in 1996, followed by the album Halbgescheid a year later . During the boom in German hip-hop at the end of the 90s, Lee Buddah became known beyond the borders of the hip-hop scene, especially with the single and video for Novemberhände from the album Primat Midi . At times he worked as a producer, remixer and guest musician for artists such as Erobique , Dike, Lotte Ohm , Fink , Olli Schulz , Too Strong , Die LP and Droopy.

In 2000 he wrote his first radio play for WDR , S-Bahn-Fahr'n . Others followed, such as the three-part Grund GmbH , Voodoo Child in collaboration with Benjamin Quabeck and Timeshift Twenty with Boris Heinrich . With co-author Andrea Halter, Stegers turned to the feature. Soon he was also active as a radio play director and composer. In 2005 the last Lee Buddah album to date was released, Spring Chronicle .

For Benjamin Quabeck's film Nothing Regret in 2001, Stegers composed the film music, Drei Wünsche and a cover version of the Hildegard Knef song Im 80th Floor , which was also featured on Primat Midi . In addition to the soundtrack, he also wrote songs for fictional bands from the film's year of the film, 1981, for the film “ Waste your youth” . For the film “ Kammerflimmern” , he worked musically with the Koblenz rock band Blackmail .
