Lee Dong-wook (born November 6, 1981 in Seoul ) is a South Korean actor , television presenter and model . He is best known for his roles in the Korean drama series My Girl (2005), Scent Of A Woman (2011), Hotel King (2014), Goblin (2016-2017), Touch Your Heart (2019) and Hell Is Other People ( 2019) known. He also hosted the South Korean survival show Produce X 101 and until recently hosted his own talk show Wooktalk (2019-2020).

Life

Lee Dong-wook was born in Seoul , the first of two children . After winning a modeling competition during his studies at an acting academy in 1999, he got his first acting role in MBC's Best Theater that same year . In 2005 Lee got his first leading role, playing the wealthy hotel owner Seol Gong-chan in My Girl (2005). This role made him a Korean Hallyustar overnight and he was also noticed outside of South Korea. Since then, Lee has starred in numerous series, including La Dolce Vita (2008), Scent Of A Woman (2011) and Hotel King (2014). Parallel to the filming of Hotel King , he was also a participant in the reality show Roommate, in which he shared a house with several celebrities. 2016 he played the role of the Grim Reapers in the fantasy series Goblin alongside Gong Yoo . The series was so successful even abroad that Lee's international fame increased significantly. As a result, he was named one of the ambassadors for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang . That same year, Lee played a doctor in the series Life , which was also released on Netflix . In 2019 Lee played in the romantic comedy series Touch Your Heart , and at the same time hosted the show Produce X 101. In autumn 2019, Lee was seen as serial killer Seo Moon-jo in the psychological thriller series Hell Is Other People . Until recently he hosted his own talk show called Wooktalk (2019-2020), and will soon play the role of Gumiho named Lee Yeon in the unreleased fantasy series Tale Of Gumiho (2020).
