Lee Eul-yong (born September 8, 1975 in Taebaek ) is a former South Korean soccer player and current soccer coach .

After serving at the Gwangju Sangmu Phoenix Military Club , Lee joined Bucheon SK in 1998 , where he spent four successful years. The best result was the runner-up in 2000.

During this time, the midfielder also recommended himself for the South Korean national team . He made his first appearance in 1999 and was soon so firmly established that he was part of the squad at the home World Cup and played there four times.

The World Cup had aroused interest from abroad and so he was able to switch to the Turkish Süper Lig at Trabzonspor . But although he was there 19 times in 2002/03 and the club won the Turkish Cup, he returned to his home country after the season to the Anyang LG Cheetahs (later renamed FC Seoul ). But in 2004 he returned to Trabzonspor and this time stayed for two years and was able to celebrate the runner-up there in 2005.

In the national team, Lee Eul-yong took part in the Asian Cup in 2004, but was not called up for a long time due to an injury and disagreements with the coach. He only returned in the run-up to the 2006 World Cup in Germany and also played two qualifying games. He was in South Korea's World Cup squad and was also used in two of his country's three tournament games.

After the World Cup he turned his back on Turkey and moved back to FC Seoul . Shortly afterwards, the 31-year-old also announced his retirement from the national team. In 2008 he moved to Gangwon FC and played here as an active player until the end of his career in 2011. He then became a scout and then assistant coach at this club . In 2017 he came to his former club FC Seoul, where he initially worked for the reserve team. In 2018 he was head coach for a few months. Since the end of 2018 he has been working as an assistant at Jeju United .
