Kim Do-heon (born July 14, 1982 in Dongducheon ) is a South Korean football player . The midfielder has been under contract with US first division club Indy Eleven since January 2019 .
Career
society
Kim started his career in his home country with Suwon Samsung Bluewings . In 2004 he won the K-League , the national championship, with the club . The South Korean Cup was won in 2002. Kim also celebrated his greatest success with the Bluewings in 2002. In the final of the AFC Champions League , the team faced league competitor Anyang LG Cheetahs . After extra time remained goalless, the penalty shoot-out decided Suwon 4-2. During this time, Kim developed into a top performer and was a pillar of the team. Despite these successes, he decided to leave the club in 2005 and joined Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma . Kim also made a breakthrough with the South Korean record champions and was able to celebrate his second national championship in 2006. Due to his playing style and committed appearance during the games he was nicknamed " Paul Scholes Asiens" in Asian . In December 2007, Kim spent trial training at West Bromwich Albion before signing a contract with the Baggies in January 2008 . After the club only loaned Kim until the summer, the club officials decided to sign him for the summer. At the end of the 2007/08 season, Kim and his new team took first place in the Football League Championship and thus promotion to the Premier League . On August 16, 2008, Kim made his debut in England's top division against Arsenal London . At the end of the 2008/09 season he had to relegate his team again.
After the descent, Kim returned to Suwon. He played there until 2014 with a break of two years when he had to do his military service and played for Ansan Mugunghwa FC during that time . In early 2015, he joined league rivals Seongnam FC . After relegation in 2016 , he stayed for a year before moving to Negeri Sembilan FA in Malaysia in early 2019 . Since the beginning of 2019 he has played for Indy Eleven in the USL Championship .
National team
Kim was for a time an important pillar of South Korea's U-23 . On April 16, 2003 he made his first international appearance. In the U23 he took part in the 2004 Olympic tournament in Athens. As a result, he played regularly in the senior national team and also in qualifying for the 2006 World Cup in Germany he was often on the pitch, although he struggled with the problem that he was one of the playmakers with Park Ji-sung Competitors who have greater international experience through their involvement with Manchester United .
