Lee M. Fratantuono
Lee M. Fratantuono (born June 6, 1973 ) is an American classical philologist .
Life
He studied Classics at the College of the Holy Cross and at Boston College before at the Fordham University at Robert Carrubba to a published 2009 Comment on Book XI of Virgil's Aeneid doctorate . During his time at Fordham he worked closely with Seth Benardete . At Ohio Wesleyan University , he taught as a professor in the Department of Classics and has the William Francis Whitlock -Lehrstuhl held for Latin.
His main areas of work are Latin language and literature, especially epic, lyrical and elegiac poetry ( Lucretius , Horace , Virgil, propertius , Ovid ); Greek language and literature, especially epic epic and Attic tragedy ( Quintus von Smyrna ; Sophocles ; Euripides ) and Roman history, especially the late republic and early empire.
