Lee Andrew Mears (born March 5, 1979 in Torquay ) is an English rugby union player . He plays as a hooker for the England team and Bath rugby .
Mears began his professional career with Bath in 1998. He went through numerous England youth selections and played for England A in the Churchill Cup . So in 1997 he was one of a school selection that was able to finish a tour to Australia unbeaten. The team at that time also included today's national players Jonny Wilkinson , Steve Borthwick and Andrew Sheridan . He made his debut for the national team in 2005 against Samoa . He was in England's squad for the 2007 World Cup and came on for a job. At the Six Nations 2008 he replaced Mark Regan as a regular in the national jersey.
In 2009 he was nominated by Ian McGeechan for the British and Irish Lions tour to South Africa . It was used in the first game in the series.
