Legios (own spelling also LEGIOS ) is an information service company and a former provider of a legal information system of the same name. The portal for business and tax law legios.de was a cooperation between two leading providers - Verlag Dr. Otto Schmidt and juris - legal specialist information.

Company history

Legios GmbH, then based in Frankfurt, was founded at the beginning of 2001 by the Handelsblatt GmbH publishing group , the Carl Heymanns Verlag KG and the Dr. Otto Schmidt KG founded. The aim of Legios is the publication of legal specialist information linked to the corresponding business information . Legios sees itself as a platform for specialist information from various publishers. In 2002 Haufe-Verlag became a partner. In 2006 the publishing house Dr. Otto Schmidt KG completely took over the Internet specialist portal Legios. In the course of the takeover, the Legios headquarters were relocated from Frankfurt am Main to the publishing house in Cologne . At the Frankfurt Book Fair 2008 it was announced that the publishing house Dr. Otto Schmidt and juris GmbH have signed a cooperation agreement . The content of Legios was linked to the decisions and laws from the stock of the juris offer. In 2013, the content of Legios was integrated into the offer of juris and the independent portal under legios.de was abandoned.

Portal Legios

The Legios portal of the same name was a commercial, specialized business and tax law portal.
