The Schinotschyj Futbolnyj klub "Lehenda-SchWSM" Chernihiv ( Ukrainian Жіночий футбольний клуб "Легенда-ШВСМ" Чернігів , scientific. Transliteration Žinočyj futbol'nyj klub "Lehenda-SVSM" Černihiv ) is a Ukrainian sports club from Chernihiv . The club's flagship is the women's football department.

history

The club was founded in 1987 and shortly afterwards took part in the Soviet women's soccer league for the first time. After the collapse of the Soviet Union , the club was a founding member of the Ukrainian league in 1992. After regularly occupying midfield positions in the 1990s, the first championship was celebrated in 2000. In the UEFA Women's Cup they finished second behind FC Toulouse . In 2002, in addition to the second championship, the cup was won for the first time. At the European level, they finished second again, this time behind the Swedish club Malmö FF . The association founded a youth academy for girls between the ages of nine and 15 in order to encourage young talent. In 2005 the third championship title so far was won. For the first time, the preliminary group could be won. However, the Ukrainians had to deal with weaker opponents. In the second round, Umeå IK ( Sweden ), Kolbotn IL ( Norway ) and Espanyol Barcelona faced very strong opponents.
