Teaching Dantzler
Teaching Livingston Dantzler (born August 17, 1878 in Bradford Springs, Sumter County (South Carolina) , † December 19, 1958 in Lexington (Kentucky) ) was an American philologist and university professor.
Career
Dantzler was the son of the Reverend Daniel David Dantzler (1842-1922, author of "A genealogical record of the Dantzler family, from 1739 to the present time").
He attended Wofford College in Spartanburg and Vanderbilt University in Nashville before enrolling as a student at Leipzig University in the fall of 1904 . There he worked from October 1909 to 1911 as a lecturer in the English language and assistant at the English seminary. In 1911 he became a professor in the English Department of the University of Kentucky .
