Leif Anton (born December 2, 1982 ) is a former German handball and beach handball player and current handball trainer .

Career

The cyclist started playing handball at VfB Holzhausen II . In 1998 he moved to TSV Hahlen , where he was German A youth runner-up in 2001 and later played in the association league. In 2002 he joined Oberliga HSG Nomi on. After only one season, second division TuS Spenge signed him . There he scored 194 goals in 33 games in the 2006/07 season and was the most successful goalscorer of his team. In 2007 Anton and his teammate David Kreckler moved to class competitor Eintracht Hildesheim , with whom he was able to celebrate promotion to the handball Bundesliga in 2011 . He then moved to third division club TBV Lemgo II. In 2015 he ended his career and from then on only worked as a coach.

Even during his active career, Anton trained various youth teams: the A-youth of HSG NoMi and the C-youth teams of Eintracht Hildesheim and TBV Lemgo. From 2015 to 2017 he was the trainer of the A-youth of TBV Lemgo. and has been without a club since then. He has been in possession of the Trainer A license since 2016 .

He was also a German university champion with Bielefeld University in 2004 and was active in beach handball . He is a teacher at the Marianne-Weber-Gymnasium in Lemgo and the father of two children.
