Leitões is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .
Leitões belongs to the district Guimaraes in Braga District . The community had an area of 3.6 km² and 560 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011). The community is only slightly urbanized.
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Leitões, Oleiros and Figueiredo merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Leitões, Oleiros e Figueiredo .
