Lene Kaaberbøl (born March 24, 1960 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish children's book author .

biography

Lene Kaaberbøl was born in Copenhagen and grew up in the small town of Malling , which is in the countryside south of Aarhus in Jutland . She published her first book when she was only 15 years old. It was also the first book in the Tina series. After graduating from Aarhus Katedralskole and graduating with a degree in English and Dramaturgy from Aarhus University , she worked as a high school teacher and translator. Kaaberbøl now lives in Sark , on the Channel Islands near France.

So far (as of 2018) she wrote more than 30 books.

So far, “Skammerens Datter” ( The Guardian of Truth - Dina's Determination , 2015 and The Guardian of Truth 2: Dina and Black Magic , 2019) and “Vildheks” have been filmed.

Awards (selection)

Walt Disney Writer of the Year (2002) for her novel series on the Disney series WITCH
Orla Prize (2012) for one of the most influential Danish children's book authors. The Orla Prize is the largest Danish children's book prize and is awarded by the public authorities.
