history

Foundation and early years

Lennard was founded by former school friends Oliver Schmidt (vocals, guitar, ex-singer from Indian Fields) and Markus Reuss (drums, percussion). Andreas Rüttiger (guitar), Bernd Gimmler (bass) and Michael Sattler (keyboards) joined them later. In this line-up, the demo Elevation and the promo EP Avalanche Land were recorded on their own . With this material the band presented itself at the German Rock & Pop Award and on TV at HR3 Newcomer.

Established in 2004

After the friendly departure of guitarist Andreas Rüttiger and keyboardist Michael Sattler, the band played their concerts with Marco Pleil from Cloudberry as a temporary guitarist and recorded their next promo EP Peace under the direction of Paul Williams in the Black Solaris Studio in Frankfurt / Main Garden State EP on. In 2004 the position on guitar was permanently filled by Oliver Horst. In 2006 the band expanded their spectrum to include an unplugged set, with which concerts were played extensively. The last milestone in the band's history is the first official full-length CD: First Breath - After Nine Years Spent in a Jam Glass was released in May 2010 on Finest Noise Releases by Radar / Motion FX.

First Breath - After Nine Years Spent in a Jam Glass

In 2007 work began on the first official album in the Bieber recording studio in Offenbach, together with Oliver Rüger, who has also worked with Sasha and Max Mutzke . After completing the drum, guitar and bass tracks as well as keyboards and some exotic instruments, the band moved to the Audiomania Studios in Frankfurt / Main. There Lennard recorded the vocal tracks and some other additions under the direction of Hansjörg Wenzel ( Farin Urlaub , Tommy Musical Offenbach). The CD was mixed there and then, on the recommendation of Hansjörg Wenzel, passed on to Düsseldorf. There the recordings were mastered by Kai Blankenberg ( Silbermond , Beatsteaks , Tocotronic ) in the Skyline Tonfabrik and finally released in April 2010 on Finest Noise Records. In the years that followed, the band gave a few concerts to promote the CD.
