Leo Mann (born January 3, 1890 in Selzach , † June 11, 1958 in Pratteln ) was a Swiss lawyer and politician ( SP ).

Life

Mann attended schools and seminars in Selzach and Solothurn , after which he worked as a teacher in the canton of Solothurn . After the First World War , he studied law in Jena , Berlin and Zurich . From 1923 he worked as a lawyer in Pratteln.

From 1927 to 1945 and from 1953 to 1958, Mann was Baselbieter SP district administrator ; in 1936/1937 President of the District Administrator. He was a member of the National Council from 1935 to 1951 and a member of the government from 1945 to 1950 . In the latter he was president from 1947 to 1948. As education director he was a promoter of a new school law in 1946. From 1933 to 1958 he was a member of the Basel bank council.
