Leonardo "Leo" Pellegrino (also known as Leo P ; born June 3, 1991 in Pittsburgh ) is an American baritone saxophonist .

Life

Leo Pellegrino graduated from the Pittsburgh Creative and Performing Arts School in 2009 . In 2013 he received his Bachelor of Music in music performance from the Manhattan School of Music . In the same year he founded the group Too Many Zooz with Matt Muirhead and David Parks in New York City , which became known through YouTube videos of appearances in New York subway stations from 2014 onwards. Until 2017 Leo Pellegrino was also a member of the brass formation Lucky Chops, founded in 2006 .

In 2016 he worked with Too Many Zooz as a feature on the album Lemonade by Beyoncé with and performed with this also at the presentation of the Country Music Association Awards on.

In 2017 Pellegrino appeared at the BBC Proms as a guest soloist with the Metropole Orkest and played works by Charles Mingus .

In 2018 he released his first solo album Sax Star Suite Pt. 1 .

In 2019 Pellegrino appeared as a guest musician at two consecutive Shpongle concerts in the Red Rocks Amphitheater, USA .

Pellegrino is known for his virtuoso playing and dancing during performances. He also stands out for his unusual clothing and hairstyles, especially hair colors.
