Leo Sarrazin

Richard Leo Sarrazin (born July 2, 1891 in Paderborn ; † November 11, 1969 ) was a German bank manager.

Life

After attending the Paulinum grammar school in Münster , he studied law at the universities of Freiburg , Munich and Münster from 1911 to 1914 . In 1919 the doctorate followed and in 1921 he passed the second state examination. From 1923 to 1925 Sarrazin worked in the Reich Ministry of Finance . After working as an authorized signatory, in 1930 he became a board member of Deutsche Bau- und Bodenbank , a predecessor of Aareal Bank , and remained so until 1939. After serving in the war and being a prisoner of war, he was again a board member of the bank from 1949 to 1962 and then a member of its supervisory board until 1969 .

Honors
