Leon Treptow

Leon Treptow (born May 22, 1853 in Königsberg , Prussia , † December 16, 1916 in Berlin ) was a German bookseller, actor, playwright and mountaineer.

He attended the high school in Freiburg im Breisgau and the high schools in Rostock and Neustrelitz . He began training as a bookseller and became an actor in 1875 and tried his hand at writing as a dramatic writer from 1877 onwards. From 1879 he lived in Berlin. His rascals and antics had great success on stage. His folk plays have been performed on almost every stage in Germany, and many of his plays have been translated into Dutch, Swedish and Russian.
