Leonhard Fuest

Leonhard Fuest (born November 6, 1967 in Münster ) is a German literary scholar .

Works

From 1989 to 1999 he studied German, philosophy and psychology at the University of Münster . After completing his doctorate in 1999 with a thesis on the work of Thomas Bernhard, he researched and taught from 2000 to 2008 at the University of Hamburg on doing nothing in literature and on ghosts in post-war literature. (Funding by the Hamburg Foundation for the Promotion of Science and Culture). After completing his habilitation in 2008 with a thesis on "not doing (s) in literature since 1800" at the then Institute for German Studies II in Hamburg , he represented a C4 professorship there from 2008 to 2010 . From 2011 to 2012 he was a fellow at the Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg Greifswald . (Research on the theoretical foundation of a “pharmacopoetics”.) From 2013 to 2014 he had a research project “Poetopharmaka. Remedies and poisons in literature ”. (Funding by the Hamburg Foundation for the Promotion of Science and Culture). Since 2017 he has also been teaching corporate communication, storytelling and business ethics at the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences .

His focus is poetopharmaceuticals, hermetics, nano- and micropoetics, critical literary theory, deconstruction, theory on the net, basics of bibliotherapy, melancholy discourses, European literature of the 19th and 20th centuries and German-language literature from the 19th century. a. by the following authors: Wilhelm Raabe , Adalbert Stifter , Robert Walser , Franz Kafka , Thomas Bernhard , WG Sebald .
