Leonhard Labatt , also Leonard Labatt ( December 4, 1838 in Stockholm - March 7, 1897 in Christiana ) was a Swedish opera singer ( tenor ) on German stages as well as a singing teacher .

Life

Labatt was trained at the Swedish Conservatory and makes his first attempt on the stage in his hometown. From there he came to the court theater in Dresden, where he stayed for two years without attracting any particular attention. He left the institute to respond to a call to Vienna at the court opera, to which he had belonged since October 1, 1869. He worked there for 14 years. On May 22, 1883, the singer , who was also valued by Richard Wagner , appeared for the last time as "Stolzing" in the Meistersinger and on May 31, 1883 he stepped out of the association of this stage, first taking part in the Rotterdam Opera, then at the City Theater Bremen and returned to his homeland in 1889.

Then he worked as a singing teacher in Sweden.
