Leonie Schütter (born January 5, 1998 in Wuppertal ) is a German basketball player . She plays on both the build-up and the wing position .

Life

Leonie Schütter started her basketball career at TB Wülfrath at the age of ten. After moving to TSV Hagen, she was already used in 2012 as a fourteen-year-old in the U-17 Bundesliga team and was able to reach the German runner-up with the team. In the game against the highly traded Metropol Baskets Hamburg, won 81:70, she scored 53 of the 81 points of her team. In 2014 it was enough for the championship title in the WNBL. In the same year she was able to celebrate the title of B-European champion with the German national team of the U16 and help that the German national team U16 rose to the A-European championship round. Leonie Schütter contributed to this success with 14.4 points, 3.6 rebound and one assist per game.

Already in the 2014/2015 season, 16-year-old Leonie Schütter became a regular and leading player in the second division team of the Phoenix Hagen Ladies. Her trainer Tobit Schneider praised the youth national player with the words: "She has a good ability to anticipate, a very good throw, is left-handed, but can lock with both hands". With an average of 13.4 points, she was the second-best basketball player in her team in the 2014/2015 season and received an average of almost 30 minutes per game.

After the relegation of the Phoenix Hagen Ladies, she moved to the second division BBZ Opladen .
