Leonor Baldaque

Leonor Bessa-Luís Alves Baldaque (born January 27, 1977 in Porto ) is a Portuguese actress. She lives in Rome.

Life

She is the granddaughter of the writer Agustina Bessa-Luís . Director Manoel de Oliveira , who is a friend and admirer of the author, met Leonor Baldaque through her. When he was looking for an actress for his film Unrest (1998), he offered her the role. She accepted and henceforth turned to acting. After completing her studies in linguistics and literature at the University of Porto in 2000 , she therefore went to Paris , where she studied and settled at the Cours Florent Theater. A number of roles followed, especially in films by Manoel de Oliveira.

In 2009 she married and went on her honeymoon in Apulia . In the same year the couple moved to Rome , where Leonor Baldaque wrote her first novel in French . Vita - La Vie Légère was published in the Blanche Collection by Editions Gallimard . She is working on her second novel in which Italy and Italian painting will form the background.
