Live and act
Leontine von Winterfeld was the daughter of the Prussian officer Ottokar von Winterfeld and his wife Barbara, nee. by Maltzan . Due to her father's military occupation, she experienced frequent changes of residence in her childhood. In Frankfurt an der Oder she attended the secondary school for girls . At the age of 20 she married the Rittmeister Botho von Platen . The couple first lived in the Griesen area , then from 1919 in Krüden near Seehausen in the Altmark and finally at Gut Neu Pinnow (today a district of Karstädt (Prignitz) ).
Her works, which can mainly be assigned to the women's novel , were particularly popular during the Weimar Republic , but are still published today. She is the mother of Sigelind von Platen .
