The Leopaard CS9 is a compact SUV from the Leopaard brand belonging to the Chinese automobile manufacturer GAC Changfeng Motor . "Hunan Leopaard Motors" and "Changfeng Motor Changsha Leopaard Automobile Co., Ltd." are subsidiaries of "GAC Changfeng Motor", which are involved in the production of the "Leopaard CS9". The SUV is positioned under the Leopaard CS10 , which was introduced in 2015 .
Model development
The vehicle debuted as the CS9 concept concept vehicle at the Beijing Auto Show in April 2016. The production model has been on sale in China since April 2017.
The CS9 has also been sold with an electric motor since December 2017. Like most Leopaard models, the electric drive variant of the CS9 also comes off the production line in Changsha. It underwent an upgrade in March 2019 in the form of the "Leopaard CS9 EV360", in which the charging capacity of the traction battery was slightly increased compared to the initial electric drive variant.
Technical specifications
The CS9 is powered by an 83 kW 1.5 liter gasoline engine or a supercharged 1.5 liter gasoline engine with 110 kW from Mitsubishi Motors . The SUV has a 5-speed manual transmission as standard , the more powerful variant a 6-speed manual transmission. A continuously variable transmission is optionally available for both engines . The compact SUV has front-wheel drive , all-wheel drive is not available.
