Leopold Eichelberg (born June 24, 1804 in Marburg ; † March 11, 1879 there ) was a German medic and political activist.

Eichelberg was born the son of a Jewish merchant. After his training he worked in Marburg as a general practitioner and private lecturer . In 1834, the liberal-democratic-minded Eichelberg significantly supported the distribution of Georg Büchner's Hessian Landbote by reprinting the pamphlet in Marburg in an edition of 400 copies. For this he was sentenced to long term imprisonment on September 12, 1837.

The so-called November version of the Landbote had been changed by Eichelberg before publication: In order not to anger the liberals, he weakened the criticism of the Landtag and the constitutions of the German principalities. In the introduction he deleted the expression "noble", which had already been weakened by Friedrich Ludwig Weidig in July ; he wrote of "princes and greats".

During the Revolution of 1848 he founded the Association of Pure Republicans in Marburg .
