Leopold Eustache Czapek

Leopold Eustache Czapek (* late 18th century in Bohemia ; † 19th century) was an Austrian composer .

Czapek, whose exact life dates are unknown, worked as a piano teacher and composer in Vienna . Piano music, chamber music and vocal works are among the more than 60 surviving works. He also wrote a variation on a waltz by Anton Diabelli . In 1819 he had inspired a total of 50 contemporary composers to each create a variation on their own waltz and published the series of variations in 1824 under the title Vaterländischer Künstlerverein ; Ludwig van Beethoven worked on the theme in his Diabelli Variations op.120.
