Leopold Mantler

Leopold Mantler (born June 30, 1919 in Hollabrunn ; † May 2, 2011 in Großmeiseldorf ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer. He was a member of the Federal Council from 1962 to 1969 and a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from 1969 to 1979 .

Life

After primary and secondary school, Mantler attended a viticulture school and worked professionally as a farmer, where he was awarded the professional title of economics council. He became involved as a local councilor from 1950 and was elected mayor of Großmeiseldorf in 1955. After the municipality was merged with Ziersdorf in 1972, Mantler took over the office of mayor in the newly formed municipality and held this office until 1981. In addition, from 1960 he was district farmer's council chairman for the Ravelsbach district and from 1960 to 1965 regional chamber councilor of the Lower Austrian regional chamber of agriculture. He represented the ÖVP from December 14, 1962 to October 19, 1969 in the Federal Council and was a member of the state parliament from December 4, 1969 to April 19, 1979.

Leopold Mantler died on May 2, 2011 in Großmeiseldorf.
