Leopold Millwisch

Leopold Millwisch (born November 7, 1909 in Vienna ; † June 14, 1978 there ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ).

Life

After attending eight-year elementary school and an advanced training school, Leopold Millwisch learned the trade of iron turner . After that he was not only active in his profession, but also pursued other occupations, including glass worker and singer .

As a member of the Socialist Party, he belonged to the Socialist Workers' Youth , he was a member of the editorial team of the party magazine Arbeiter-Zeitung .

In October 1934 Millwisch was arrested for standing up for the Revolutionary Socialists in Austria and interned in the Wöllersdorf detention camp. In June 1935 he was sentenced to three months of strict arrest, but as his pre-trial detention was credited, he was released shortly after the verdict.

In December 1945 Millwisch became a member of the Federal Council . He was a member of this group for almost seven years until June 1952.

At the same time he was elected deputy chairman of the Association of War Victims.

Millwisch was buried in the Neustift cemetery .
