Lepida
Lepida was the nickname ( cognomen ) of several women from the Lepidus branch of the gens Aemilia in Roman antiquity :
- Aemilia Lepida was the name of the mother of Cornelia Metella , the last wife of Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus
- Aemilia Lepida , daughter of a Lepidus, wife of Quintus Caecilius Metellus Pius Scipio
- Aemilia Lepida , the daughter of Paullus Aemilius Lepidus , married Marcus Iunius Silanus , the consul of the year 15 AD.
- Aemilia Lepida (3 BC – 53 AD) was the daughter of Iulia Minor and Lucius Aemilius Paullus . After her engagement to the future emperor Claudius had beenbroken in the year 8, she married Marcus Iunius Silanus Torquatus . She wasmurderedby Agrippina the Younger .
- Aemilia Lepida († 36 AD), daughter of Marcus Aemilius Lepidus , consul of the year 6, was the wife of Drusus Caesar . According to Tacitus, she made herself complicit in her husband's demise through her charges. In 36, three years after Drusus died from starvation in prison, she was charged with adultery and committed suicide.
- Aemilia Lepida was the wife of Publius Sulpicius Quirinius , who divorced her (possibly because of adultery), after which she married Mamercus Aemilius Scaurus . In AD 20, she was charged with various crimes by her first husband and banned from the Senate.
- Aemilia Lepida , the daughter of Manius Aemilius Lepidus , consul in AD 11, and the wife of the future emperor Galba , died long before him.
- Domitia Lepida , the mother of Valeria Messalina , the wife of Claudius , inherited the cognomen of her grandmother Aemilia Lepida, who was probably the daughter or niece of the triumvir Marcus Aemilius Lepidus .
- Iunia Lepida , daughter of Amalia Lepida and Marcus Iunius Silanus Torquatus and wife of Gaius Cassius Longinus , was charged in 65 of incest with her nephew and of magic.
