Lepismium warmingianum is a species of the genus Lepismium in the cactus family(Cactaceae).

description

Lepismium warmingianum has an epiphytic and shrubby growth with initially upright, later hanging shoots that are richly branched. The slender, dark green shoot segments are three or four-sided or flat. They are up to 30 centimeters long and have a diameter of 0.7 to 2.5 centimeters. The blunt-toothed edges are reddish. The not deeply sunk areoles are bare.

The side appearing, single, white flowers are bell-shaped and drooping. They are 1 to 2 centimeters long and reach the same diameter. Your pericarpel is angular. The spherical, dark purple to black fruits have a diameter of 5 to 6 millimeters.

Distribution, systematics and endangerment

Lepismium warmingianum is found in Brazil , u. a. Mato Grosso do Sul, distributed in eastern Paraguay and northeast Argentina at altitudes up to 1100 meters. It was first described as Rhipsalis warmingiana in 1890 by Karl Moritz Schumann . Wilhelm Barthlott placed them in the genus Lepismium in 1987 .

Lepismium warmingianum is in the endangered Red List species the IUCN as " Least Concern (LC) ", d. H. not endangered, classified.
