Leptokarya ( Greek Λεπτοκαρυά ( f. Sg. )) Is a village in the municipality of Alexandroupoli in the Greek region of East Macedonia and Thrace . Administratively it belongs to the local community Esymi .

The village of Leptokarya is on the Alexandroupoli – Mikro Derio road at about 700 m above sea level .

Under the name Foundoutziak, the village was incorporated into the then rural community Esymi in 1924 and renamed Leptokarya in 1928. Between 1940 and 1946 Leptokarya belonged to the rural community of Arrianes in Rodopi prefecture . The majority of the residents are Muslim.

The Association of Sarakatsans of the Evros Regional District has had a museum with a traditional settlement since 2005. It was set up with financial support from the European Union's LEADER + funding program .
