Leslie Godfree
Leslie Allison Godfree (born April 27, 1885 in Brighton , † November 17, 1971 in London ) was an English tennis player.
Career
Godfree participated in the Wimbledon Championships from 1920 to 1930 . While he never got beyond the third round in singles, he won there in 1923 in doubles alongside Randolph Lycett . In addition, he and his wife Kathleen McKane-Godfree were the only married couple to win the mixed competition in 1926.
From 1923 to 1927 he took part in the Davis Cup for Great Britain - exclusively in doubles - and won six of his eleven games.
Godfree played at the Olympic Games in Paris in 1924 in mixed and doubles, but could not win a medal.
He died in Richmond, London in 1971 at the age of 86 .
