Sir Lester Bryant Bird (born February 21, 1938 in New York City ) is an Antiguan politician. From 1994 to 2004 he was the country's prime minister. Prior to his political career, Bird was an excellent athlete .

Bird was chairman of the Antigua Labor Party from 1971 to 1993 . After the resignation of his father, Vere Cornwall Bird , he took over the post of Prime Minister from him on March 9, 1994.

He was confirmed in office in the 1994 and 1999 parliamentary elections. In the March 2004 elections his party lost eight seats and the United Progressive Party became the strongest faction. On March 24, 2004, Baldwin Spencer was elected Bird's successor.

In 2014 he was knighted as a Knight Companion of the Order of the National Hero .
