Lethal Aggression is an American crossover band from Asbury Park , New Jersey that was formed in 1985.

history

The band was formed in 1985. After the group had developed the first songs, the demo From the Cunt of the Fucking Whore followed . After the band was heard in 1987 with the song Corruption on the compilation Complete Death II , the single Just Killed Rock N 'Roll II followed via Premature Entombment Productions . In 1988 appeared on Funhouse Records debut album Life Is Hard ... But That's No Excuse at All! . On the album, the band consisted of singer John Saltz, guitarist Rob De Froscia, bassist George Yeck and drummer Ken Lund. In January 1989 the band went on a European tour with Youth of Today , which included about 40 appearances. In 1990 the EP Subliminal Erosion followed via Virulence Records . Another album was recorded in 1991 under the name Godservation , but not released. Instead, the band self-released the compilation The Studdering Skull Sessions , which contained live clips, unused material, and fan news. In 2001 Relapse Records released the compilation From the Cunt of the Fucking Whore , which contained the demo of the same name and the recordings for Godservation . In the meantime, singer John Saltz was the only remaining founding member of the band. The other members were now the guitarist Dave Gutierrez, the bassist Todd and the drummer Kenny Lund. In 2009, the second album Ad Nauseum followed via Horror Pain Gore Death Productions .

Andrea Nieradzik from Metal Hammer classified Life Is Hard… But That's No Excuse at All! to hardcore punk . Above all, she noted the aggressiveness of the songs and the short playing time of them, as the album had 21 songs with a playing time of about 25 minutes. thethrashmetalguide.com described the band as one of the first crossover thrash metal bands. The speed of the songs on Ad Nauseum often tended towards hard or even grindcore .
