The Letschchumi Mountains ( Georgian ლეჩხუმის ქედი ) are a part of the Great Caucasus , which extends south of its main ridge in a west-east direction.
The Letschchumi Mountains are located in the Ratscha-Letschchumi and Lower Vanetia region in northern Georgia . It lies between the upper reaches of Tcheniszqali (in the west and north) and Rioni (in the south and east). The mountains reach a maximum height of 3584 m in the Samerzchle .
In the mountains mainly porphyry and mica schist occur, in the northeast flysch . The north and west slopes are steep, while the mountains slope gently to the east and south. Beech, spruce and fir trees grow on the mountain slopes. At higher altitudes one can find subalpine and alpine vegetation.
