The Latvian Bracke is not from the FCI recognized dog breed from Latvia .
origin
The Latvian Hound was probably bred from the Swedish Smålandsstövare or the Swiss Low Hound. The breed has been bred since at least 1950 and was first recognized in 1971.
description
With a shoulder height of 43–50 cm for males and 40–46 cm for females, the Latvian hound is smaller than the Estonian and Lithuanian hound and is thus the smallest of the Baltic brackets . Their fur is black with a tan mark, similar to that of the Jura hound .
use
In addition to hunting brackish animals , the Latvian hound is also used as a welding dog .
