Former Lower lights of the leading light line Eversand

The Untereversand lighthouse served from 1887 to 1923 as a lower light for navigation through the so-called Wurster Arm of the old Weser estuary .

Due to the relocation of sands in the Outer Weser, the main fairway had to be relocated to the Fedderwarder Arm in 1922 . With this, the upper and lower lights of the Eversand leading light line lost their function. While the upper fire was handed over to the Dorum community in 2003 and moved to Dorum-Neufeld in March of that year , the lower fire was initially left to its own devices. Many cormorants use it as a nesting place today. This is why this underfire is also called the "cormorant tower" today.
