history

The headquarters on Krahnstrasse in Osnabrück
Shop in Berlin, Kurfürstendamm

In 1909 Ulrich Leysieffer opened a pastry shop on Krahnstrasse in Osnabrück. The company's own praline production began in 1936. During the Second World War, the shop was destroyed in 1944. It was only possible to reopen it in 1950 by Karl and Ursula Leysieffer. In the period that followed, production was expanded and the company expanded. Mail order began in 1964. In 1967, Axel Leysieffer joined the company in the third generation. In 1973 Leysieffer moved to today's production facility in Osnabrück- Atter .

Today the family business is run by Jan Leysieffer in the fourth generation. It supplies its own confectionery and bistros as well as selected partners (large department stores and specialist shops). Apart from a partner shop in Budapest , sales are limited to Germany. In addition, the products are also sold via an online shop. Leysieffer positions itself as a premium brand with high-quality products that are handcrafted with natural ingredients.

On April 2, 2019, an application for restructuring proceedings in self- administration was submitted to the Osnabrück District Court . In the course of the renovation, branches were closed (two in Hamburg and one each in Aachen and Düsseldorf) and the number of employees reduced; In addition, the range has been reduced. After the US investor Deel & Winkler took over the majority stake, the bankruptcy proceedings were lifted.
