Li Shufang

Li Shufang ( Chinese  李淑芳 ; born May 6, 1979 in Qingdao ) is a former Chinese judoka who was second in the 2000 Olympic Games in the weight class up to 63 kilograms.

The 1.65 m tall Li Shufang was second in the 1996 Junior World Championships. In 1997 she won bronze at the Asian Championships in Manila. In 2000 she won the Chinese championships. At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000, she defeated the Kyrgyz Olga Artamonowa with Waza-Ari in the round of 16 . In the quarter-finals against the Belgian Gella Vandecaveye and in the semi-finals against the Italian Jenny Gal , she won after each referee decision (yusei-gachi). In the final she was subject to the French Séverine Vandenhende by punishment (chui).

2001 Li Shufang won the East Asian Games in Osaka. The following year she won a bronze medal at the Asian Games in Busan . In 2004 she won bronze again at the Asian Championships. At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, she lost her opening match against the Canadian Marie-Hélène Chisholm .
