Liam Ó Buachalla

Liam Ó Buachalla ( 1899 - October 15, 1970 ) was an Irish politician ( Fianna Fáil ) and was a member of the Seanad Éireann , the upper house of the Irish Parliament from 1939 to 1969.

Live and act

Ó Buachalla was nominated by Taoiseach Éamon de Valera as senator in the 3rd Seanad Éireann on October 7, 1939 , and thus filled the vacant seat of Senator Maurice George Moore , who died in September . After he was also nominated in the 4th and 5th Seanad Éireann, his election to the Cultural and Educational Panel took place during his further political career as a senator in the 6th to the 11th Seanad Éireann . As a member of the Seanad Éireann, Ó Buachalla was chairman from 1951 to 1954, and again from 1957 to 1969 as Cathaoirleach . In the elections for the 12th Seanad Éireann in 1969, he did not run.
