Everardus Antonius M. Baaij SCI (born March 24, 1921 in Rotterdam , † January 31, 2012 in Port Elizabeth ) was a Dutch religious , missionary and Roman Catholic bishop of Aliwal North .

Life

Everardus Anthony M. Baaij joined the Congregation of Dehonians at and received on July 20, 1947, the priestly ordination . He first worked in Canada and the USA before coming to South Africa .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on December 17, 1973 bishop of the Aliwal diocese . The Archbishop of Dakar Joseph Patrick Fitzgerald OMI ordained him on May 23 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Johannes Baptist Lück SCI, Former Bishop of Aliwal, and Joseph Anthony De Palma SCI, Bishop of the Diocese of De Aar . His motto was Veni Creator .

On October 30, 1981, Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation due to health issues.
