Liane Schneider

Liane Schneider (* 1957 ) is a German children's book author. She is the author of the successful book series My Friend Conni .

Live and act

After studying chemistry and art, Schneider worked as a teacher. When her daughter Cornelia started school in 1990, Liane Schneider wrote the first story and sent the manuscript to Carlsen Verlag . He signed Schneider and published the stories with illustrations by Eva Wenzel-Bürger and Annette Steinhauer as Pixi books . Due to the great success, bound picture books appeared. 60 books have now been published in Germany, and Liane Schneider writes four more every year. A total of over 25 million books were sold and the Conni series was published in 30 other countries, including France ( Conni is called Lola here ), Spain ( Berta ), Poland ( Zuzia ) and Turkey ( Elif ). In order to convey German culture, Conni books are used at American universities and in Germany for the integration of refugees.

Schneider let the character of Conni age with her readers and developed books for children from 7, 10 and 12 years. For this series, however, the texts are written by other authors. In 2016 the first movie adaptation was released with the title Conni & Co with Emma Schweiger in the leading role. A second part, entitled Conni & Co 2 - The Secret of T-Rex , was released in 2017. Emma Schweiger took over the lead role again.

Schneider lives in Garbsen near Hanover .
