Liang Guanglie
Liang Guanglie (born December 1940 in Santai ) is a Chinese general and politician.
Liang joined the army in 1958 . He was Chief of Staff of the Beijing Military Region from December 1993 to July 1995 . From December 1997 to December 1999 he was a commander in the Shenyang area and from December 1999 to November 2002 in Nanjing .
From 2002 to 2007 he was Chief of the General Staff of the People's Liberation Army , then from 2008 to 2012 Minister of Defense of the People's Republic of China and a member of the Central Military Commission . He has not been a member of the CCP Central Committee since 2013 .
