Location of Santai County (pink) in Mianyang (yellow), Sichuan Province.

The district of Santai ( Chinese  三台 县 , Pinyin Sāntái Xiàn ) is located in the Chinese province of Sichuan . It belongs to the administrative area of ​​the prefecture-level city of Mianyang and is located in the south of Mianyang. It has an area of ​​2,661 square kilometers and a population of 1,460,000 (2004). The main town and seat of government is the large community of Tongchuan ( 潼川 镇 ).

The Fu Jiang ( 涪江 ), a tributary of the Jialing Jiang ( 嘉陵江 ) flows through Santai.

The rock tombs of Qijiang ( Qijiang yamuqun ( 郪 江 崖墓 群 )) from the time of the Eastern Han Dynasty have been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (4-66) since 1996 .

Religious sites are the Daoist Yuntai Temple (Yuntaiguan 云台 观) in the village of Yuntai 云台 村 in the Anju安居 镇 community and the Buddhist Qinquan Temple (Qinquan si 琴 泉 寺) from the time of the Northern Wei Dynasty in Tongchuan . There is also the Du Fu Museum (杜甫 纪念馆).

In Santai - as in other sites in the Sichuan Basin - well salt is extracted.
