Jiangyou ( Chinese 江油 市 , Pinyin Jiāngyóu Shì ) is a county-level city in the prefecture -level city of Mianyang in the Chinese province of Sichuan . It has an area of 2,720 square kilometers and has a population of 870,000 (2004). The main town and seat of government is the large municipality of Zhongba ( 中 坝镇 ). The Baoji-Chengdu railway line runs through their territory.
The Yunyan Temple (Yunyan si 云岩寺) and the sites of the saltpetre caves of Laojun Shan (Laojun Shan xiaodong yizhi 老君山 硝 洞 遗址) from the time of the Ming and Qing dynasties have been on the since 1988 and 2006 respectively List of monuments of the People's Republic of China .

The independent city of Jiangyou now consists of four street districts , twenty-one large parishes and nineteen parishes . In 2000 the following administrative units were still there:
